
Authorities say the driver did stop to render aid.
SAN ANTONIO — A man is dead after getting hit by a vehicle near the northwest side Saturday night, according to San Antonio police.
Emergency responders were called to the 900 block of Bandera Road just after 10 p.m. for a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.
A police sergeant on scene said a man was attempting to cross Bandera Road, outside of a crosswalk, when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver told officers that he didn’t see the man walking across the road.
Authorities said the driver did stop to render aid but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the sergeant, the driver was also evaluated for a DWI and cleared. The driver is not expected to face charges.
