He was rushed to the University Hospital with serious injuries, but died a short time later.
SAN ANTONIO — A man is dead after being found in the road near the airport by San Antonio Police officers.
Police found the man in the 300 block of Northeast Loop 410 just before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Police say the original call was for a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle, but witnesses said he actually jumped from the bridge on Jones Maltsberger and landed on Loop 410. He was then seen walking along the highway, trying to get people to stop. One person did stop and police say that person was pulled out of their vehicle and assaulted in an attempt to take their car.
Police were able to detain the man and rush him to University Hospital with serious injuries, but he reportedly died a short time later.
