The motorcyclist crashed into the side of a sedan, causing minor injuries to that driver as well.
SAN ANTONIO — Police are investigating a motorcycle crash on the south side that sent a man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries late Sunday night.
It happened around 10:45 p.m. on Southwest Military Drive at Garnett.
The victim, a man in his 50s, was taken to University Hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to officers. He died from his injuries at the hospital.
Police say the driver of the Dodge was making a left-hand turn going west on SW Military Drive, when witnesses said the motorcyclist collided with the Dodge. Officers say he crashed into the side of a sedan and was launched off his motorcycle, landing about 30 yards down the road.
Officers are looking into the possibility of alcohol being involved in the motorcyclist’s crash. Police also believe speed was a factor.
The woman driving the sedan had minor bumps and bruises and was checked out on the scene by EMS.
No charges have been filed at this time.
This is a developing story.
