SAPD: Man found with fatal gunshot wounds on northwest-side balcony

Police say the suspect, a 25-year-old man, was arrested for murder not far from where the shooting happened.

SAN ANTONIO — SAPD says a 53-year-old man was found dead on the northwest side Tuesday morning.

According to police, shots were fired in the area of NW Loop 410 and Culebra around 9:55 a.m. 

Once at the Flex Studio Culebra, police say a man with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso was discovered by SAFD in the breezeway on the second floor.

The full identity of the victim has not been shared yet.

Police say the suspect was detained and arrested for murder near Alamo Downs Parkway, not far from the shooting. Charges are pending.

Police say they later found a suspect vehicle and the victim’s car outside a home on Rita Avenue.

Around 12:45 p.m., police say people were detained after a standoff in the 5200 block of Rita Avenue, according to police.
