Upon arrival, police said they found the 41-year-old male victim near the lobby of the apartment complex with at least one gunshot wound to the arm.

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Police Department has confirmed that a man has been hospitalized following a shooting at a northeast-side apartment complex.

Around 11 a.m. on Thursday, SAPD responded to the 4600 block of Rittiman Road after receiving reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, police said they found the 41-year-old male victim near the lobby of the apartment complex with at least one gunshot wound to the arm.

When police did a search of the first-floor apartment, they reportedly found several shell casing outside and inside of the residence. After searching through a few of the rooms, police said they found a few people inside and detained them for questioning as they didn’t know their involvement in the shooting.

Police said witnesses were cooperating with investigators.

Witnesses reportedly told police the suspect was wearing all black and has a tall, thin build, but police couldn’t confirm if the suspect was male or female.

Police said witnesses saw the suspect run from the scene, and that they’re going to be scrubbing through footage to try and identify the shooter.

No other injuries were reported.

This is an ongoing investigation. KENS 5 will update this story as more information becomes available.
