SAPD: Man in critical condition after being shot by his girlfriend

Police say the girlfriend fled from the scene and was eventually taken into custody near Interstate-10.

SAN ANTONIO — A man was shot by his girlfriend during an argument on the east side of town and was taken to hospital.

It happened around 7:15 a.m. in the 700 block of Gabriel near North Walters Street and Grimes Street.

Officers arrived to find the victim, a man in his 30s, with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was taken to BAMC in critical condition.

Police say the girlfriend fled from the scene and was eventually taken into custody near Interstate-10. Officers say a semiautomatic weapon was used and police collected it for evidence.
