
San Antonio police said a man was hurt after suspects armed with a hammer attempted to break into his apartment.
SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio man was attacked Friday evening after police say he confronted several suspects who tried to break into his apartment with a hammer.
According to SAPD, officers were called around 7 p.m. to the 300 block of Torreon Street, just west of downtown, for a reported disturbance. Investigators said the 36-year-old man was inside his apartment when multiple suspects attempted to force their way in with a hammer.
The man confronted the suspects and scared them off, according to investigators. As he turned away, the suspects allegedly tried to attack him again. The man was chased with the hammer and a physical altercation followed.
Officials said the victim suffered a minor, non–life-threatening injury. One of the suspects, a 24-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital, according to SAPD.
Charges are pending. SAPD noted information is preliminary and details are subject to change.
