The driver in the truck did not stop to render aid.
SAN ANTONIO — A driver was injured and taken to the hospital after the car he was stranded in on the side of the highway was hit by a driver in a truck Saturday evening.
It happened around 6:50 p.m. in the 5800 block of Northwest Loop 410 westbound.
The 58-year-old man was seated inside his 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe on the right-side shoulder when the suspect in a tan 2020 Dodge RAM truck going westbound on Northwest Loop 410 veered off the main lanes and onto the shoulder striking the rear of his car.
The victim sustained serious bodily injuries from the crash and was taken to a local hospital by EMS.
Police say the driver of the Dodge drove off without rendering aid to the victim or giving his information to officers.
Police later found the suspect. He is facing one charge of failure to stop and render aid causing serious bodily injury.
The victim remains in serious condition at the hospital.
