SAPD: Man injured when his gun accidentally discharges in his pocket while at the movies

He was waiting in line at the snack bar when the gun went off in his pants, grazing his leg.

SAN ANTONIO — A man was injured Tuesday evening when the gun he was carrying accidentally discharged and grazed his leg.

It happened just before 7:50 p.m. at the Cinemark theater off on Loop 410 on the northwest side of town.

Police say a moviegoer was in line at the snack bar when he says a gun in his pocket just went off, grazing his leg.

No one else was injured. The man was arrested and faces two counts for unlawful carrying a weapon in a prohibited place and discharging in a municipality.

Police say that it’s a felony because beer is sold there, but TABC will not be involved because the movie theater did not commit any infraction.
