San Antonio police say a man in his 20s was shot and killed after three suspects forced their way into an apartment and demanded property.
SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police say a deadly overnight shooting at an apartment complex on the west side may have started as a robbery.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers were called around 1:47 a.m. Wednesday to the Vaquero Apartments in the 7600 block of U.S. Highway 90 West for a shooting in progress.
When officers arrived, they found a 19-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics with the San Antonio Fire Department.
Investigators say the victim had been waiting at the apartment for someone who was supposed to buy something from him.
Police say there was a knock at the door and three unknown men forced their way inside, demanding the victim’s property without paying.
According to police, the suspects assaulted the victim and then shot him multiple times before fleeing the apartment complex.
Two women, ages 22 and 23, were also inside the apartment and told officers what happened.
Police say the suspects, described as three unknown males, left the scene before officers arrived.
The investigation remains ongoing, and detectives say additional details could change as the case develops. No arrests have been announced.
