SAPD: Man runs across San Antonio highway, gets fatally hit by truck

Police say the man ran across the main lanes of Loop 410 and was hit by a Toyota Tundra. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

SAN ANTONIO — A man is now dead after police say he ran across a highway and was hit by a truck early Saturday morning.

At about 1:45 a.m., the man in his early 20s had left a local dance hall. Police say for an unknown reason, he began running through the parking lot toward the 3000 block of NE Loop 410.

Police say the man ran across the main lanes of Loop 410 and was hit by a Toyota Tundra. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He has yet to be identified.

The driver of the Tundra did remain on scene but after being evaluated showed signs of intoxication. He was arrested for DWI.
