SAPD: Man shoots significant other in the leg after argument turns physical

Police say the woman drove herself to the hospital with minor injuries. The suspect has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

SAN ANTONIO — A man has been arrested after police say he shot his significant other in the leg Friday night following an argument.

Police were called to the 5800 block of Fort Laramie for a shooting in progress around 7:40 p.m. When they arrived, they found the suspect, a 34-year-old man, who was detained shortly after.

According to police, the suspect and his significant other, a 34-year-old woman, had an argument that turned physical.

The man allegedly took out a weapon during the argument and fired a shot, striking the woman in the leg. The woman fled the location and drove herself to the hospital, according to police. She sustained minor injuries.

The man has been arrested and will be charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
