SAPD: Man shot ‘father figure’ before escaping on via bus in San Antonio, woman detained as ‘accomplice’

A man and woman are being questioned by police after he allegedly shot his “father figure” before trying to escape on a VIA bus in San Antonio.

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Police Department has arrested a man and woman after he allegedly shot his “father figure” during an argument on the south side.

Around 3:30 p.m., SAPD responded to the 1300 block of Mission Grande after receiving reports of a disturbance with a gun.

Preliminary reports from SAPD suggests an argument broke out between a man and his mother’s partner before the “father figure” was shot. Police say the man could be the suspect’s stepfather, but that has not yet been confirmed.

After the suspect fired his weapon, police say he hopped on a nearby VIA bus before he was arrested at one of its next stops.

SAPD says a woman has been detained and is being questioned as an accomplice to the crime.

This is an ongoing investigation.
