SAPD: Man shows up to south-side Baptist Neighborhood Hospital with gunshot wound

The driver who dropped the victim off left before police arrived, authorities said.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio authorities say they’re trying to find out what happened to a man before he was dropped off at a south-side hospital with a gunshot wound Thursday afternoon.

The unidentified victim was brought to Baptist Neighborhood Hospital at South Zarzamora and Interstate 35. Police responded there around 2:49 p.m., where they say the driver took off before officers could talk to them.

The man had been shot in the face but is in stable condition after being taken to another hospital to be treated, an SAPD sergeant at the scene said.

“Unknown where the shooting actually took place,” that sergeant said.

This is a developing story.
