SAN ANTONIO — A man is in critical condition after San Antonio police said he was shot during an attempted robbery at a vape shop on the city’s west side.

Officials said the shooting happened late Saturday night at the Pal Vape Dispensary, located on the 1400 block of Bandera Road.

According to SAPD, a masked male entered the store and pulled a firearm, demanding property from the employee inside. That’s when investigators say the employee pulled out their own firearm and shot the suspect several times.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, according to officials.

It is unclear at this time whether the employee will face any charges. No other injuries were reported.

This is a developing story.
