SAN ANTONIO — Traffic investigators are looking into an incident involving a woman injured in a motorcycle crash.
Police say the crash happened around 2:30 a.m. Thursday on I-10 near the Vance Jackson exit.
A call initially came in as a report of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle. But when police arrived, they found a 31-year-old woman who was conscious and talking with some significant injuries.
The woman told paramedics she had been a passenger on a motorcycle, and that the driver of the bike lost control and hit the guardrail. After the crash, police say the driver got back on the bike and kept going, leaving the woman behind.
The woman was rushed to the hospital in critical condition with several broken bones.
The driver of the motorcycle, 40, was later found at his home located near the crash site. He also received serious bodily injury due to the crash and was taken to the hospital.
He has been arrested and charged with collision involving serious bodily injury.
Police say both the driver and the woman are currently in critical condition as of Thursday morning.
