SAN ANTONIO — A motorcyclist died Thursday night after crashing into the back of a vehicle stopped on Loop 1604’s main lanes on the north side, according to San Antonio police.

The crash happened around 7:45 p.m. on Nov. 27 in the 3700 block of N. Loop 1604 East. Officers were called to the scene for reports of a major accident involving a motorcycle.

Witnesses told investigators the 25-year-old motorcyclist was traveling east on the access road and merging onto the on-ramp for Loop 1604 when he ran into the back of a vehicle. Police say the vehicle had been stopped in the main lanes due to a minor accident that occurred moments earlier.
