San Antonio police arrested Officer Paul Fencik for alleged drunk driving while on duty.
SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio police officer was arrested while on duty and accused of driving while intoxicated.
Officer Paul Fencik was arrested Thursday at the South Patrol Substation, police say.
He has been placed on administrative duty while the case is investigated. SAPD says Fencik has been employed by the department for 18 years.
“I am deeply disappointed that an officer would choose to drink and drive, endangering the very community we are sworn to protect. This behavior represents a clear violation of the public’s trust and the standards of conduct expected from those in our Department” said SAPD Chief William McManus.
SAPD is conducting both criminal and administrative investigations into this incident.
