SAN ANTONIO — A Bike Patrol Unit officer was arrested on Christmas Eve and is now facing charges for family violence.
SAPD Officer Holvin Perez Ortiz was arrested for Assault Bodily Injury-Family on Tuesday by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department. BCSO says he was off-duty at the time he was arrested.
There were no details of the incident or what led up to the charges.
He has been placed on administrative duty while the incident is investigated. SAPD is launching its won administrative investigation into the incident. Officer Perez Ortiz has been with the department for five years.
