SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio police officer was charged with multiple felony counts of child injury in connection to three separate off-duty incidents in 2024, according to records.
The San Antonio Police Department said officer Jacob Ryan, a five-year officer currently assigned to the Patrol Division, faces three counts. Online records say the incidents occurred in February, March and June 2024, and involve a girl under 15 years old.
Ryan,32, was indicted last Thursday. Records say that, in one incident, he grabbed and lifted the girl by the arm and struck her. He’s also accused of hitting her with an “object,” but what that object is is unclear.
SAPD said in a release that Ryan turned himself in to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and has been placed on administrative duty while the departments conducts an internal investigation into the case.
As of Tuesday, Ryan was released on a $10,000 bond, online records indicate. He was ordered to full house arrest and GPS monitoring, and is not allowed to have contact with the victim or posses firearms of any kind.
He has a court appearance scheduled for Feb. 9.
Ryan is the seventh SAPD officer arrested so far this year.
