SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Police fatally shot a man early Sunday who they say made threatening moves towards them as they responded to a call in progress on the east side.
It happened just after midnight at the Knights Inn off East Houston Street near Frost Bank Center.
Police Chief William McManus says it happened as three of his officers were responding to a reported cutting.
The chief says when officers were talking with the alleged victim, the suspect came towards the door, and threatened the officers. Chief McManus said the suspect “moved aggressively towards them.”
That’s when the chief says they shot at the suspect, killing him.
It’s unclear if the suspect had any weapons on him during the shooting. His identify has not been released.
All three officers have been placed on administrative duty while police investigate.
This is the 11th shooting involving an SAPD officer so far this year.
This is a developing story.
