SAPD: One dead after shooting at west-side bus stop

SAPD says that an argument took place between two men at the bus stop off West Commerce. That argument led to the suspect allegedly shooting the victim.

SAN ANTONIO — SAPD has confirmed an individual is in critical condition after a shooting on the city’s west side.

Around 3:40 p.m., SAFD responded to the 2800 block of West Commerce Street after receiving reports of a shooting.

SAPD says that an argument took place between two men at the bus stop. That argument led to the suspect pulling out a firearm and shooting the victim multiple times. Police say four shots were heard but are unsure how many hit the victim.

That victim, middle-aged according to police, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Police say he died at 4:38 p.m.

The suspect is currently in custody as the shooting continues to be investigated.
