SAPD: One man dead, another injured after shooting at west-side apartment complex

San Antonio police say a 22-year-old man died and a 19-year-old was injured in a west-side apartment shooting.

SAN ANTONIO — A man was killed and another was injured after a shooting broke out at a west-side apartment complex Sunday evening, according to San Antonio police.

Emergency responders were called to the 8600 block of Waters Edge Drive near IDEA Mays around 6 p.m. for a shooting in progress. 

Police said a 22-year-old man was found with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to the hospital but was pronounced dead before arriving. A 19-year-old man was also found with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. That victim was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

According to SAPD, a disturbance of some kind broke out but investigators are still trying to piece together what exactly happened. Police did say both victims live at the apartment complex. 

Police said this was an ongoing investigation.
