SAPD: One man injured in west-side shooting, police looking for suspect

SAFD confirms that at least one person was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police are investigating a shooting on the west-side that sent one man to the hospital Thursday afternoon.

The shooting occurred around 12:40 p.m. on the 100 block of Matthews Avenue near El Paso Street and SW 21st Street.

Police say two people were standing near a vehicle that did not belong to them when a red vehicle pulled up and fired multiple rounds before speeding away.

According to SAPD, the victim and the other individual walked about a block down the street before the man collapsed prior to police arrival.

Police say the man was struck at least once and was taken to the hospital in stable condition. The victim is reportedly not cooperating with police.

SAPD did not provide a physical description of the suspect.

Police say this is an ongoing investigation.
