
An officer directing traffic heard a loud pop, and then discovered his vehicle had been hit by gunfire.
SAN ANTONIO — Police are investigating after a vehicle belonging to an officer was struck by gunfire on the northeast side of San Antonio.
Officers were called around 8:24 p.m. Saturday to the area of Interstate 35 North and Walzem Road for reports of a shooting.
Investigators say an officer from another agency was working traffic control in his personal vehicle, which was blocking lanes with emergency lights on.
The officer told police he heard a loud sound and got out to check, that’s when he realized his vehicle had been hit by gunfire.
No injuries were reported.
Police say there is no suspect or vehicle description at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
