Back on Jan. 1, Jason Huizar was shot and killed off Paso Chico Alley near south Brazos Street.
SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police released a new clue in the murder case of Jason Huizar. Investigators released an image of a man they say is connected to the killing that happened on New Year’s Day.
Alex Mares and Brenda Hinojosa are hoping for an arrest soon.
“Just come forward,” Mares said. “So we have more information and can be more at peace, and have more clarity to what even happened.”
“Nobody deserves to die like that,” Huizar’s aunt said. “Just to get shot just like that.”
Investigators now say the 32-year-old was involved in what they call a disturbance with two people. Police didn’t say what it was about.
“I just feel anger, pure anger,” Hinojosa said. “Why did they have to kill him. My nephew didn’t have a gun. He’s not the type to use a gun.”
Mares, who is the mother to Huizar’s children, said the children keep asking for their father.
“Everyday he is like when is my dad going to come home, Mares said. “When he is coming home, and I am just like, he won’t. I am sorry. He is not really coming home this time.”
Hinojosa said she leaves everything to law enforcement.
“We need to find him,” she said. “We need to find him. So, we can go on with our lives.”
