
Police say the security guard returned fire, hitting the suspect in the head after being shot at during an attempted robbery on the northeast side of town.
SAN ANTONIO — A security guard shot a robbery suspect in the head early Sunday morning on the northeast side of town, police say.
It happened around 2:20 a.m. in the 4300 block of Rittiman Road near I-35.
Police say that two men were attempting to rob a business in the shopping center when a security guard intervened. The suspects opened fire on the guard, and he returned fire hitting one of the suspects in the head.
The suspect was taken to BAMC in critical condition.
The second suspect fled from the scene and has not been located by police.
No other injuries were reported.
