SAPD: Suspect flees scene after fatal shooting in downtown parking lot

A 32-year-old man was allegedly shot twice by an unknown suspect, who also tried to shoot at another person, but missed. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.

SAN ANTONIO — A man is now dead and the suspect is on the run after a shooting in a downtown parking lot, SAPD says.

Police were called out to a parking lot near Bentley’s Beer Garden at the intersection of North Alamo and 8th Street around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

This is where an altercation took place, according to police. It ended with a 32-year-old man allegedly being shot twice by an unknown suspect, who also tried to shoot at another person but missed. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

The victim ultimately died in an ambulance before he could be taken to the hospital.

The suspect has not been found and it’s still unclear what led up to the altercation.
