SAPD: Suspect pulls sharp instrument on employees during shoe store robbery in southwest San Antonio

San Antonio police say a man pulled a sharp instrument on employees while leaving a shoe store with merchandise Saturday afternoon.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police are searching for a robbery suspect after an incident at a store on the city’s southwest side.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers were called around 3:49 p.m. Saturday to the 1900 block of Southwest Military Drive for a robbery in progress.

Investigators say the suspect, believed to be between 30 and 40 years old, went into the store and asked to try on several pairs of shoes.

Police say the man then went to the register as if he were going to pay, but told employees he had forgotten his wallet.

As he started to walk out, employees tried to stop him. That’s when police say the suspect pulled out a sharp instrument and threatened the workers before fleeing the scene.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect was gone before officers arrived, and no arrests had been made as of the latest update.

The case remains under investigation.
