SAPD: Teenage girl injured, suspect held by police following disturbance on west-side

SAPD believes there may be some other individuals involved but it’s unclear how at this time.

SAN ANTONIO — A 16-year-old girl was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound after a disturbance with another teen escalated and he shot her, according to police.

It happened just before 1 a.m. on Calle Estrella on the west side of San Antonio.

According to officers at the scene, when the argument escalated, the 16-year-old boy pulled out a weapon and shot the teenage girl. She was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to her upper extremity. 

Police detained the suspect for further questioning. Officers are still trying to determine what actually led up to the shooting.

SAPD believes there may be some other individuals involved but it’s unclear how at this time. 

No other injuries were reported.
