SAN ANTONIO — Police say three suspects in a dark-colored vehicle robbed an ATM Wednesday morning. This was surprise attack, and not the first crime the same suspects are wanted for robbery.
It happened at Pleasanton Road and Southwest Military Drive on the south side of San Antonio around 10:30 am.
Three men wearing all black pull in behind the employee servicing the atm and told him to get out of the way, police say.
This robbery may be connect to other robberies with the same suspects, according to police.
“They just drove up and told the guy, hey move out of the way,” said police. “We don’t want to hurt you.”
Police saying these guys are pros and know exactly where and when to hit.
Officers say that a worker was either re-stocking the cash machine or possibly removing money from it when the suspects approached him.
That employee was not injured.
No word on how much money was stolen from the machine. Police say the suspects knew what they were doing.
“They know what they’re doing,” said a police sergeant.
The suspects drove off in a dark-colored, either a Jeep or a Grand Cherokee, and took off on I-35 then got onto Loop 410.
Officers lost sight of them off Loop 410 at Callaghan Road.
About an hour after the robbery, police got reports of atm boxes left on Rayburn Road, which is about a mile from where the robbery happened.
Police say is the second in a trail of crimes the suspected crooks are now wanted in connection to.
They say around 9 a.m. on Wednesday, a jugging was reported on the north side of town.
Detectives believe it’s the same suspects.
In both crimes, witnesses reported seeing a dark-colored Jeep Cherokee taking off from the scene
They will be facing multiple charges when they are apprehended.
This is a developing story.
