SAPD: Two dead after suspect opens fire on family members, turns gun on himself Wednesday

59-year-old Yolanda Keller and 59-year-old Brian J. Keller have been pronounced dead. The alleged 25-year-old shooter is in critical condition at last check.

SAN ANTONIO — Officials with the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) say a man and a woman are dead and another man is hospitalized after a suspect opened fire on the north side Wednesday.

Around 5 p.m., authorities responded to the 17900 block of Winter Hill Road after receiving a call from someone reporting a body outside their home. Upon arriving, officers located a man and a woman in critical condition; they were taken to a local hospital.

Neighbors were shaken by what happened.

“I ended up calling my wife and just telling her make sure you close the garage door, lock the doors, because there’s something happening here,” one neighbor said.

Police say the 25-year-old suspect and victims were family members living together in the house. According to officials, the suspect shot a 59-year-old man in the head before following a 59-year-old woman out of the home and fatally shooting her.

The suspect then shot himself in the head, but survived. That suspect, along with the man he allegedly shot, were hospitalized in critical condition.

On Friday, the 59-year-old man was pronounced dead.

Police say the suspect could face charges for capital murder and aggravated assault.

The woman has been identified as Yolanda Keller, 59, and the man has been identified as Brian J. Keller, 59. The suspect has still not been identified.
