SAPD: Woman hospitalized, driver located after suspected hit-and-run on west side

SAPD said officers were able to locate the 35-year-old driver who initially did not stop to render aid.

SAN ANTONIO — A woman was hospitalized after San Antonio police said she was struck by a pickup truck in a hit-and-run incident on the city’s west side on Saturday afternoon.

The crash happened around 4 p.m. at the intersection of Memorial Street and Culebra Road. 

Police said the 37-year-old woman was standing in the middle of Memorial Street, retrieving personal belongings from a family member in another vehicle, when she was hit by a white Mazda pickup traveling northbound.

The driver of the truck did not stop to render aid at the time of the collision, police said.

The woman was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to SAPD, officers were able to locate the 35-year-old male driver during the incident. He cooperated with the investigation.

Officials said the investigation remains ongoing and details may change as more information becomes available.
