Police say the driver returned to the scene after realizing they hit someone.
SAN ANTONIO — A woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition after she was hit by a driver while she was trying to cross the street inside a crosswalk, according to police.
It happened around 7:20 p.m. in the 500 block of WW White Road at Springfield Road on the northeast side of town.
Police say the 45-year-old woman was hit by a driver in a 2018 Chevy Cruze. The driver of the Chevy returned to the scene when they realized they may have struck someone.
Police say the victim was taken to the hospital with a life-threatening injury.
At last check, she was in stable condition.
