SAN ANTONIO — A woman was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound after a disturbance with a man escalated and he shot her, according to police.
It happened just before 1 a.m. on Calle Estrella on the west side of San Antonio.
According to officers at the scene, when the argument escalated, the man pulled out a weapon and shot the woman. She was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to her upper extremity.
Police detained the suspect for further questioning. Officers are still trying to determine what actually led up to the shooting.

No other injuries were reported.
