The boyfriend has been detained by police for questioning.
It happened around 12:45 a.m. Monday on the 6500 block of Spring Lark Drive near Babcock Road on the city’s northwest side.
Police believe the gun shot could have been self-inflicted but its still unclear at the moment. The victim was taken to University Hospital in critical condition.
Police believe there was some sort of fight or struggle with the boyfriend. He has been detained for questioning.
