The mother had her two kids in the car with her when the accident happened.

SAN ANTONIO — Two children were with their mother when a wrong-way driver in a truck crashed into their vehicle, killing the mom, police say.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 3800 block of Harry Wurzbach Road, not far from Eisenhauer Road.

Police confim the woman was with her two children when the wrong-way driver crashed into their vehicle. She was taken to University Hospital where she died from her injuries. She has been identified by the Bexar County Medical Examiner as Karina Ramirez, 28. The children, ages eight and 12, were also taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Officers say the driver of the pickup, a 45-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries as well.

The driver faces possible intoxication manslaughter charges, pending testing at the hospital.

Police are investigating.
