SAN ANTONIO — A Schertz high school student took home the gold in a statewide culinary competition this weekend.
At the Texas ProStart Competition, high school students across the state compete in culinary and management challenges. The competition is held annually and has two culinary paths, including the Nationals Track, which prepares students for professional culinary careers, and the Lone Star State Track, that promotes creativity and learning. The top teams in both tracks and the management competition earn scholarships and prizes and advance to the National ProStart Invitational.
This year the Texas ProStart Competition was held at the Waco Convention Center beginning Friday and wrapped up by Sunday.
