“He really wants to be the best in the game,” said Elliott about the Spurs center.
SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Spurs‘ Victor Wembanyama is on the path to becoming the face of the league.
With his incredible skill set and ability to dominate the court, he is undoubtedly on his way to becoming the best player in the NBA sooner rather than later.
But a lot also comes from his mentality and the desire to be the best.
Much like Hall of Famer Kobe Bryant says Sean Elliott.
Elliott joined SiriusXM NBA Radio to discuss what makes Wemby unique when he compared his mindset to the Lakers legend.
“If you have to ask a big man to leave the gym, that’s unheard of,” Elliott said. “I think he’s got a little bit of that Kobe mentality. Not even a little bit, but a lot. He really wants to be the best in the game. He has the hunger and the desire.”

That is high praise for the second-year pro, but it would not be surprising if he becomes the best.
He’s breaking records, recording triple-doubles, and is on course to amass countless awards in his career. What might also push him into the stratosphere is if and when he wins multiple NBA titles.
MAMU HOSTING A SAN ANTONIO CHRISTMAS BASKETBALL CAMP
Spurs’ Sandro Mamukelashvili is hosting a local basketball camp on Dec. 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sonia Sotomayor High School, 12801 Tall Timber Lane, 78254.

Mamu shared a message about the camp, which is shaping up to be a fun time for all young athletes:
“I’m super excited to be hosting my first Christmas Camp. During the camp, in addition to learning and enhancing your basketball skills and developing the knowledge of the game, we will engage in community service!
Our camp will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for children that we’ll deliver as gifts for Christmas. Your generous contribution will make a difference this holiday season and put a smile on a kid’s face. Just bring an unwrapped toy with you to the camp and let’s bring joy to others this Christmas together.
I can’t wait to see you there and spend some amazing time with you!”
Sign-up is now open and includes a $75.00 fee, a camp photo, a t-shirt, a photo with Mamu, and one item that will be signed by the Spurs forward.
In addition to this, Mamu will be hosting a basketball camp in Laredo, TX.
