SAN ANTONIO — A new roller coaster is about to make a splash at SeaWorld San Antonio.

The park is preparing to open “Barracuda Strike,” the tallest inverted family roller coaster in North America, and it’s designed to deliver big thrills for riders of all ages.

The new attraction sends riders climbing a 90-foot hill before racing along the track at speeds of up to 44 miles per hour. Unlike traditional coasters, riders hang beneath the track, giving the feeling of flying as they twist and turn through the ride.

SeaWorld says the ride is part of its continued effort to add new attractions that families can enjoy together while still delivering plenty of adrenaline.

With its height and speed, Barracuda Strike is expected to draw roller-coaster fans from across Texas and beyond.

KENS 5 got an early look at the ride ahead of its opening, sending reporter Rania Kaur to test it out before guests line up for their turn.

If you’re a thrill seeker, or just looking for your next weekend adventure, this new coaster might be worth the trip.
