AUSTIN, Texas — For the second time in less than a week, a body has been found at the University of Texas at Austin.
According to UT spokesperson Mike Rosen, the body was discovered “overnight” Wednesday into Thursday, but the person’s identity has not been made public.
The cause of death remains unknown, but Rosen said there was no foul play suspected and the University of Texas Police Department said officers had responded to a “medical emergency.” It’s unclear exactly where on campus the body was discovered.
Last Saturday, another person died on campus in a separate incident at the Perry-Castañeda Library. UTPD responded to a medical emergency at the library just after 5 p.m., and the deceased person had reportedly suffered “noticeable trauma.”
Both deaths are currently under investigation.
