Flags will fly at half-staff at the Precinct 4 office, honoring her dedicated service.

SAN ANTONIO — Michele Garcia, the Bexar County Precinct 4 justice of the peace, has died amid a battle with cancer.

Precinct 4 County Commissioner Tommy Calvert was among the local leaders who shared news of Garcia’s passing online, adding the flag outside the precinct office will be flown at half-staff for the next nine days “in honor of her service to the people of Bexar County.”

“Her battle with cancer came to an end,” County Clerk Lucy Adame-Clark shared to her official Facebook page Saturday afternoon. “But her spirit will never be forgotten.”

County Tax Assessor-Collector Albert Uresti shared that Garcia was a “hardworking” judge, and Kirby Mayor Janeshia Grider said she served “with dedication, integrity and compassion.”

During her time in office, Garcia oversaw the opening of the new precinct field office in Converse.
