Several Stevens High School students involved in incident off-campus, officials say

A spokesman with NISD said the campus was placed on lockdown during the incident, but resumed normal operations once there was no further threat.

SAN ANTONIO — Stevens High School was placed on a temporary lockdown after a fight between students off campus ended with one of them stabbed, police say.

It happened around noon on Monday in the 9800 block of Potranco Road on the west side of San Antonio.

Police say a 15-year-old was stabbed during the fight and was taken to University Hospital in unknown condition.
Another victim is being treated by the school nurse for what appear to be scratches on their arm they allegedly received from a knife during the brawl.

Police have not recovered any weapons from the suspects but believe there was at least one knife involved. A police K9 with Northside ISD is currently searching the area for additional weapons.

One teen has been detained by police, but it’s unclear if they are the suspect.

Police are still conducting interviews with witnesses.

“At approximately 12:30 p.m., Stevens HS was placed into a LOCKDOWN as a result of an incident off-campus involving several Stevens students,” said Barry Perez, NISD Spokesman. “After NISD police deemed the incident posed no further threat to our campus, we resumed normal scheduling and operations on the interior of the building. More information will be provided as details become available. So you know, we will remain on alert with NISD PD on campus as a precaution.”

This is a developing story.
