
According to NISD, based on preliminary information the incident is believed to be isolated and specific to Vale Middle School.
SAN ANTONIO — Multiple students were sent to the school nurse for “feeling unwell” after being served expired milk Wednesday, according to officials with Northside Independent School District.
Officials said an investigation is currently underway after 11 student became ill at Robert Vale Middle School after drinking what appears to be expired milk that was provided on campus. All the students were evaluated by the school nurse and no other incidents were reported.
According to NISD, based on preliminary information the incident is believed to be isolated and specific to Vale Middle School.
“No other NISD schools were impacted. Only a portion of the school’s milk supply was past the expiration date, not the entire inventory,” a statement from Northside ISD reads.
Officials said the investigation will be led by the NISD Child Nutrition Department and, in accordance with proper protocol, the incident will be reported to the Texas Health Department.
