Severe storms possible in San Antonio and Hill Country starting Wednesday | Weather Impact Alert

SAN ANTONIO — IMPACT DAYS: Late Wednesday night, April 1 into early Thursday morning, April 2 /  Saturday morning, April 4 and Sunday morning, April 5.

Reason: Isolated severe storms possible this week with chance for heavy rain through Easter weekend.

The breakdown

The National Weather Service (NWS) says rain and storm chances will peak Wednesday night into Thursday and again through the Easter weekend.

There is currently a level 1 of 5 risk in place for San Antonio, the Hill Country and the surrounding region. Some isolated strong to severe storms are possible Wednesday night into Thursday morning with the main threats being locally heavy rain, damaging wind and even large hail in some areas, according to NWS.

There are no watches, warnings, or advisories at this time.

Latest forecast

Unseasonably warm weather continues for the rest of the week.

There is a chance for showers and thunderstorms Wednesday night into Thursday, some could be strong especially across the Hill Country.

A cold front will arrive Saturday with a 70% chance for showers and thunderstorms and highs in the low 80s.

It will be much cooler for Easter Sunday with lows in the mid to low 50s and highs in the mid to upper 60s and a chance for showers.

Even though there could be a few strong storms Thursday morning and Saturday, there aren’t any big spring storm systems headed our way anytime soon.
