A warrant was issued for 43-year-old Melvin Kennon’s arrest in September 2025 for failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements.
SEGUIN, Texas — A Texas Top 10 Most Wanted sex offender has been arrested in Seguin, Texas DPS says.
Melvin Lee Kennon, 43, was arrested after a traffic stop on I-10 on Tuesday.
In 2007, Kennon was convicted of sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl. He was sentenced to six years in prison, being released in 2012.
A warrant was issued for his arrest out of Wilson County in September 2025 for failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements.
Kennon’s arrest was not from a tip through Texas Crime Stoppers, so a reward will not be paid.
