‘She had a lot of life to live:’ Family calling for justice in 2024 killing of Bexar County mother

“We need that person off the streets, to make sure they don’t do this to someone else,” said Tina Reyna, Ana Ojeda’s friend.

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — Family and friends of Ana Ojeda gathered this week at her gravesite to mark two years since the 33-year-old single mother was found slain inside her home in southwest Bexar County, a case that remains unsolved.

Ojeda’s loved ones are renewing calls for answers and justice. They said they fear her case could fade from public attention as time passes.

“She was a light in our family. She was so special. She was so bright,” Velia Romero, Ana’s cousin said.

Authorities with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said Ojeda was found dead on March 29, 2024, at her home in the 11000 block of Davalos Lane in the Luckey Ranch neighborhood. Deputies said a friend went to check on Ojeda after being unable to reach her.

The friend found the front door unlocked and discovered Ojeda lying on the floor inside the home, officials said.

According to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office, Ojeda suffered sharp force injuries to her upper body. Her death was ruled a homicide.

No arrests have been made.

“We have no answers. It’s been two years and we don’t know anything,” Romero said.

Family members said they are speaking out again in hopes of generating new leads and preventing further violence.

“We need that person off the streets, make sure they don’t do this to someone else. We want justice for Ana,” Tina Reyna, Ana’s friend said. “She deserves it. She had a lot of life to live.”

Ojeda is survived by a young daughter, who was just 6 years old when Ana passed.

Authorities have not released new information about the investigation. A request for comment from the sheriff’s office was not immediately returned.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
