HOUSTON — Harris County authorities have charged a man with capital murder in connection with the brutal deaths of his parents last month.
Christopher Leman, 47, remains at large with his whereabouts unknown.
Leman is wanted for the murders of his father, Christopher Leman Sr., 75, and mother, Mary Leman, 73. They were found during a welfare check at their home off Crosby Lynchburg Road, north of Barbers Hill Road on July 11, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
The father was pronounced dead at the scene, while the mother was transported by Life Flight to a hospital where she died two days later on July 13. Leman was formally charged Friday.
The victims were found in an area with dense vegetation, about half a mile west of the road.
Sheriff Gonzalez initially reported that the woman had been shot, but later clarified that she had suffered “some kind of cut on her head” rather than gunshot wounds.
Anyone with information about Leman’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office at 713-274-9100 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
