CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A woman was arrested on DWI charges after officers said she was found passed out behind the wheel with three children under 10 years old in the car.
The San Patricio County Sheriff’s Office (SPCSO) said it received a call from the Corpus Christi Police Department regarding a 7-year-old boy in a car with his 5- and 1-year-old brother while the mom was sleeping at an unknown location in San Patricio County.
After officers were able to ping the boys’ location, they determined the vehicle was located at Whites Point, just outside of Portland and Taft, along the water’s edge.
Officers arrested the mom, and Child Protective Service was called to the scene. The children were found safe and were released to their grandfather.
The SPCSO advises parents to show children the importance of calling 911.
