Shooting on west side injures two, police say

A woman was shot in the hand, and a man was injured when a bullet ricocheted and hit him in his face.

SAN ANTONIO — A man and woman were injured in a shooting on the west side of town early Monday morning.

It happened just after midnight on Old Highway 90 near South General McMullen.

Police say there was an argument between a man, a woman and a third person. The third person left then came back with a weapon and opened fire on the couple.

Police say the woman was shot in the hand, and a man was injured when a bullet ricocheted and hit him in his face.

She ran off to get help and both of them were taken to University Hospital.

Police tell us the shooter did not know the victims and drove off in a hatchback.

An investigation is underway.
